Projects & Tasks

Whether you're planning a house move, organizing a family gathering, or just keeping track of your weekend chores, Mottainai gives you visual tools to stay organized.

Visualizing work with Boards

A Board (often called a Kanban board) is a container where you organize tasks visually.

A board consists of:

  • Columns: These represent the stages of a task (e.g., "To Do", "Doing", "Done") or categories (e.g., "Kitchen", "Garden", "Garage").
  • Cards: Each card is a task or an idea.

As you make progress, you can simply drag a card from one column to another. This bird's-eye view makes it incredibly easy to see exactly what needs to be done and what's already finished.

Deadlines and the Calendar

For tasks that have strict deadlines, you can assign a "Due Date" to a card.

Instead of forcing you to check your boards every day to see what is due, Mottainai integrates this directly into your Calendar. In the Calendar's "Aggregate View", you will see:

  • Your personal scheduled events
  • Your physical items that are expiring soon (from your Storage)
  • Cards from your Boards that are due

This ensures that no task ever slips through the cracks, without you having to manually copy dates around.
